So I'm just counting the days til I can start chasing birds again. So let's start something i haven't seen on here yet... full disclosure this has probably been covered and I missed it. What boots do you use turkey hunting? More than one pair for different reasons? Why do I need to use them? Do you use different boots deer hunting? Idc lets just see what people got?

Russell Moccasins snake boots. Put a lot of miles on em over the years, they were stiff at first but after breaking in they've been awesome...

I've tried many snake boots. Chippewas, Danners, Rocky's, LaCrosse, Redhead. I found the Readhead side zip camo snake boots to be my favorites, and have worn them for years. They're lightweight and comfortable, and they hold their waterproofing as well or better than the others, but they're getting hard to find. I think they may have stopped making them. I needed a new pair for this spring and couldn't find them, so I had to get a similar pair of Rocky's. I mainly hunt in Dixie, so snake boots are a must.
For cold weather hunts, I have a pair of 2000 gram Thinsulate regular hunting boots. If it's cold enough for those boots, the snakes won't be active.

Early season if still cold and not too muddy I wear my Keen boots that I wear daily. Once it warms up or starts getting sloppy my Much snake boots go on the rest of the season. They are a bit stiff but I'll take protection and dry feet over snake bites and wet feet any day!

Lacrosse alpha burly uninsulated most of the time. I had a pair of rocky silent stalker sneakers that I wore for years but they had to finally be retired. My next go to is a pair of Salomon x ultra 2 hikers.

I have worn many different types of snake boots for many years, but after moving to western North Carolina I have changed my footwear. For me snake boots just don't do well in the mountains so now I wear my Keene hikers and the turtle skins snake gaiters. I am happy with the decision so far. I'm seriously thinking of getting a pair of Crispi boots in the future.

I wear rubber uninsulated Lacrosse Aeroheads. I walk an average of 160 miles in turkey season then hunt a 3 month long deer season.
I used uninsulated Lacrosse Lagrange rubber boots for years with no issue but wore out the soles in 2-3 years. Switched to Alpha burly uninsulated because they are lighter, had a hiking shoe footbed and used them for a good many years. Changed from those when I started seeing cracks at the ankles after two seasons. Switched to Mucks for a while but those didn't hold up to well in the long haul. Two pair of those leaked after water got in somewhere at a rubber seam and tracked to the inside back of the heel via the neoprene. Reckon the neoprene ends there and is not sealed very well.

I have wide feet. Irish Setter makes great Waterproof Turkey boots. They stand behind them too. Had the Gore Tex breakdown after warranty elapsed. They still replaced them with brand new pair. Great, comfortable boots...

I've been wearing keen targhee II hikers the past few years, but this year I'm going with some crispi Wyoming's. I really like how well built the crispi's are.

Lacrosse. A set of lacrosse rubber boots generally last me about 2 turkey seasons, sometimes 3. I had the alpha mud lites when they still made them. One of my favorites . Currently have a pair of alpha lites which they have also quite making . Don't know what my next pair will be. This was my year using rubber conditioner so maybe they'll last longer . If they don't I plan on making the investment in russel moccasins and being done with it for my lifetime .

Lacrosse grange is just about the best boot for any kind of hunting if you like dry feet. Although I have some lacrosse alpha agility's coming to give them a try. Mack's PW has them on sale.

Lacrosse alphaburly pros and some insulated Rockys I've had for 10+ years when it's cold. My part of VA has timber rattlers and copperheads but encounters are few. I am as observant as possible when moving thru the woods, especially when stepping over logs and sunny spots.
