Title: Worried
Post by: Sir-diealot on June 16, 2019, 09:56:27 PM
I have boiled my bones but I am unable to cut them and get marrow out as I only have one arm right now. Will this cause me a problem? I have been following this video.

Edit:  I have already boiled 3 times in Dawn and Borax as the video says to do before I posted this. Not sure if peroxide is still needed?

I also have somebody coming over to cut bones so I can get marrow out on Wednesday after church.

You most likely can throw them in the freezer until you can get back to them. Bubba

Okay I was wondering about that. My Deacon is going to stop over on Wednesday and cut them with a Dremel tool for me.

Once you cut the ends of the bones off and get the marrow out (use pipe cleaners), you need to really degrease your bones. Simmer them in water with some Dawn dish soap for about 15 minutes. Then put them in your peroxide for a day or two.

I do not have access to pipe cleaners right now because I have no way to town. I would hitchhike but I may have broke my foot last week. I did boil them in borax and Dawn already, but it would make sense to do it again to help clean the inside. Thanks for the advise.

Looking on Amazon, would I want soft or bristle? I am guessing the second? I can have these delivered for free as I have Prime but want to be sure I get the right ones. Thanks. https://smile.amazon.com/F-Absorbent-Cleaners-inches-Bristle/dp/B07CX82LM3/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=pipe+cleaners&qid=1560805030&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011%2Cp_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Blow them out with an air compressor then boil again in salt water . The 20% peroxide from beauty supply store

Cut with a coping saw if you don't have a bandsaw

I have nothing you mentioned above except the peroxide and that came from Dollar store. lol Not trying to be wise but what is a coping saw or is that a misprint? Thanks for the reply.

Okay thanks for that information. Right now I can't get the saw anyway as I have no way to get anywhere and lack the funds. I posted above that my Deacon will be stopping over to cut it for me with a dremel tool on Wednesday. I will get the marrow out then and put them in the freezer til  I can get the other stuff.
