Anyone have experience or pattern pics of these. I ran the 1.5oz loads for years. Would like some input before buying if possible. Any help is appreciated.
Been wondering the same thing.
Are you talking about the Federal 2 3/4" shells? They're 1 1/8 oz. I got five boxes I should pattern.
I've been shooting the 3" and getting some really good patterns.
Been wondering the same as well.
Unable to locate any federal heavyweights, running some heavy 13's with good results. But would like to try the fed heavies
So I shot a 40 yd pattern w 2 3/4" 1 1/8 oz Federal HWT #7 today. Used the Carlson LB .568 choke that has been throwing awesome patterns w 3" 1 1/2 oz Federal HWT #7 shells
Garbage! Less than 80 in a 10" circle w horrible spotty distribution
When the weather improves will try a tighter choke like the Trulock .560.
They did not shoot well out of my Trulock 560 in a youth model 870. FWIW. Huge difference. They were a 30 yard shell in that gun.
Thanks for the heads up guys

Be interested if you can get them to shoot better. BTW, I have 5 boxes of size 6 Heavyweight and I have been able to get 100 at best with a variety of tubes.
Just bought a box to pattern. Going to try them through my affinity with a carlsons .575
Keep you guys posted.

Let's keep in mind there are not but 249 +/- pellets in that 1 1/8 oz. load....not to mention the Heavyweights were so very finicky to begin with.
Bink, I hear ya. Figured I would give the Trulock Federal HWT .560 choke a shot, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Will do. Once the winds drop back into the single digits
Ive shot about three boxes and about 10 different chokes. I broke 100 one time with Sumtoy 575. Everything else is in the 80s or less. Lots of 80 patterns. Its a nice even pattern and most average about 6 to 9 lethal pellets in the spine and brain. I bought two cases for my son to shoot. Gonna be the 575 Sumtoy.
FYI. Have shot it through 4 different sumtoys ( 2, 562, 570, 575, and custom 578. Also shot through 4 trulock. 2 560s, 565, 575. Shot through truglo SSX 550, cabelas blackmax, and a carlsons 575.
Need to try factory full. Just havent yet. Tighter chokes blew pattern out. Seems to like 570/575 sumtoy
