Let's make this one good. How about one of my new May Day box calls. It's built with maple lid over a sycamour chassis.
To play just in one sentence post why you love or hate a box call.
You know the routine I'll draw a random bill from my wallet. I will use the serial numbers to create the winning number. Let's do the 2nd and 7th numeric digets to create the winning number. The winning number will correspond with the post count. So if your post number is number 21 and the winning number is number 21 you are the winner.
Will end it sometime Wednesday. It may be 3:30 a.m. in the morning. It may be 11:30 p.m. at night. but sometime Wednesday.
My favorite thing about a box call is the ability to cut thru wind and carry across wide open fields.
I love a box call because it's classic, I hate it because I don't have one yet and I'm jealous.
I love them for distance and hate them in the rain.
I hate them because I always end up finding a way to accidentally sit on them when I set up on a bird
I love box calls because it takes me back to the first call I learned to use and has performed for me in windy conditions as I can call from many ridges over and get a gobble in response.
I love them because I don't have one!
I love box calls because they sound great and are a work of art.
I love box calls as I'm able to crank it up against the wind.
I like box calls because birds seem to answer to them when they won't nothing else.
Love them because they sound like the real thing!
I love them because of their simplistic design yet unarguable effectivness.

I use one on occasion without much luck, I'd sure like another one to try!!
I don't use one as much as I used to, but back in the day it was my go to call!
I hate them because inevitably they seem to make a squawk in my vest on their own when I least expect it.
I love a box because to me they have the most realistic turkey yelp out of all the other type.
I love box calls because that's what my dad used when we went out hunting about 20 years ago
I love them because if you carry enough of them you can make a good fire if it gets cold. ;D (just kidding, box call lovers)
I love them because they are so versital. In the same I hate them because I lack confidence in them.
Thanks Gooserbat for the opportunity.
Don't use them because they require to much movement
I love box calls that are built with artistic design but rather not use one while hunting. Mine sit on the shelf as more of a decorative piece.

Love to have them to reach out there long distance
Love a box call because it is the easiest, most realistic call to get a new hunter started on.

I love a box call because of the nostalgia, and after years of use they just get better looking. It's one of those calls that can be passed down. Those old wood boxes carry a lifetime of memories.

They sound so good
Hate them, have not carried them in years do to the fact I have never found one that didn't sound like a wounded goose with a sinus infection. Probably operator error...

I love a box call because I'm an old school turkey hunting historian and in the right hands, they still sound the most like a wild turkey.
I love sipping a good bourbon out of a box call ;D
I hate them because I'm not very good on one.
It's already been said, but a good one will make some of the most realistic turkey sounds out there, including a gobble.
Bob

Box calls are ole school like me!!
Box calls are great to use because of their ease of use
Because it's like Lynch said, "they're foolproof".
I love a box because turkeys love the sound of a box. Also the first bird I killed came to a box call.

Loud and realistic, and easy to use...
I like a box call because it is very user friendly.
I love the classic look of a box call. The craftmanship(in a good one).
Box calls when hunting can be fragile and noisy to carry

Still use them.
I love a box call because they are fun to play and they can really cut through the wind like nothing else on windy day.
I hate my box call because the only time I have had a bird come in to it, I was using it as a locator on a very windy day and they gobbled at 75 yards and came in so fast I had not even sat down yet. Don't know who was more shocked - me or them! Early in my career and taught me to look for a place to sit before you run the locator call!
I love a box because they are easy to run. Very versatile.
I always carry a good boxcall, sometimes that's the only call they want!

The box call is on the top of my list due to its capability of being loud, crisp, and raspy to get those BIG boyz hollering! :OGturkeyhead:
I love the ability to put a rubber band on it and make a convincing gooble.
I love em cause they are easy and old school. Hate it when your hunting with somebody and they squawk every step they take.
Love them for the sounds but hate the bulkiness of them in my vest. I dont hate them enough not to carry a good sounding one though! :icon_thumright:

Box calls don't get all gummed up with Copenhagen. Well, not if you're doing it properly anyway.
