My 13 year old daughter currently has a Mossberg 510 mini turkey thug. I'm interested in upgrading her to an autoloader (20ga). Was looking at the Weatherby SA-08 Youth,Remington 1187 Compact or Tristar Raptor Compact. Was looking for something with a receiver that is tapped for optics, not sure if any of those are. Any input would be welcome. Thanks.
Have you looked at the Mossberg sa-20
The Tristar in camo comes already tapped ... good reviews from people on the forum....
SA-20 is very nice and I really like the Weatherby SA-459 which is a SA-20 upgraded with pistol grip and a couple other nice features.
If you find anyone / vendors with a SA-459 in 20 for sale let me know I am looking for one, I have handled the 12 gauge and really like the gun.
SA-20 or SA-459 if you can find one..
The tristar most referred is the viper g2. Its 1 up from the raptor. I have both the 20 gauge and the 410. The 410 is drilled and tapped the 20 has a 3/8 dovetail on top.
Those Weatherby's are really nice guns. If I had to buy a new semi that's what it would be.

The sa 459, My daughters love that gun. The pistol grip makes it easy for them to hold the gun.
Have you looked at the stoeger or Franchi?
My 9 year old shoots a Franchi Affinity with no problem. 1 3/8 oz tss load makes it a 40 yard gun with room for error.
My brother bought a black 1187 20Ga package that included a 24" bird barrel and a rifled slug barrel with iron sights for his 15 yr old daughter. When she is not using it he is. This gun has not missed a turkey or deer yet. A light and accurate shotgun. He had to order it at the gun store he shops at.
Franchi Affinity Compact for $750 or the Benelli M2 Compact
Lifelong investment that can transition with your daughter as she grows.
