Just curious to which scotchbrite you prefer to condition slate and strikers. Red or green?
Green on slate and maroon on striker tips for me personally.

Almost any scotch bright for strikers
I like GRAY for slate .........
I use both colors for pots and strikers usually brown or maroon mostly
I'm using green on slate and use 200 grit emery cloth (it does not tear like sandpaper) for the striker.

Enticer Power Slate never needs to be condition. Wipe it on your shirt & it will work. CK. this link & see. Also a link to my condition kit.http://www.enticerturkeycalls.com/shop/accessories/pro-pack-conditioner-kit/ http://www.enticerturkeycalls.com/shop/turkey-calls/power-slate/
green seems always available in stores in my area ,,, but its green or maroon me personally dont think their much difference lol ,,, strikers when i do condition one a little 150 grit palm of hand and give it a twist
I like maroon on slate. For strikers go to Home Depot or Lowes and get the 3m Pro Grade Precision Ultra Flexible sand roll in 150 or 220 grit. I use 220 when new and like 150 when its been used a bit. You can cut pieces the size of your palm, lay piece in your palm, push striker with little pressure and twist. This will make that tip better than new and the more you do it the better it gets. I also think you get a better radius on the tip buy doing it this way.
Brick (maroon) color I use on my slates. I use the 200 grit wet/dry automotive sandpaper on my strikers
Green scotchbrite for slate and fine sandpaper for my strikers..
Green for slate and striker. :firefighter:
tI favor the green but then i've never tried the red
I bought the red last year and the green this year. It may just be in my head but I like the green better.
I keep a piece of 60 grit, 120 grit and green scotch brite on a caribiner key chain hooked to my vest so I can find it fast if needed.
Always used green on the slate

I use green on slate, copper, and anodized aluminum. I used to use it on my strikers with the green scotchbrite as well, until I read Mike and Scott's posts on this thread. The 150 with light pressure and a twist works much better.
Never knew there was a difference in green or maroon. Use both on my on my slate and 150 grit on my strikers. Seems to work well except on a Diamond wood striker I bought last year. It's been a very hard striker to tune up and has never sounded that good.
