April 17th here in WV. Can't wait to take my boys out for the youth hunt on the 15th!!

You guys have all the luck.
I have to wait till the 18th in MD.
That's like foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
And Spring Rockfish Season is on, double damn.
We don't start here in NJ till April 24th. NY is May 1st
March 15th here. Heard my first bird gobble last week and with the warm weather already here, the birds have already started the spring process. Gonna be an interesting season with this weather.

Haha. Yeah I'm blessed for sure. I got about 15 before I can retire. Sure hope to travel some when that happens.
Maybe I just need to come to your part of the world and hunt anyways before I retire, lol. I here Miss. is some pretty good huntin.
I have to say. It's not to bad. Lots of pressure in some areas and lots of public land. But got a good many birds too.
Went out again this morning to a WMA I have a hunt on the 1st week of the season. I heard several birds and was able to build a partial blind and mark some spots. 1 was gobbling so close to a camera, I had to leave it without checking it.
Youth hunt next weekend, just have to hope the bird makes it through.
I picked up an extra opportunity today. A friend of mine has some land that he invited me to turkey hunt with him a couple times this year. It is loaded with birds so hoping for a bonus bird.
We actually picked up a new place to hunt too. Owners don't turkey hunt at all, but love to deer hunt. So we got free range.
77 on Thursday and my buddy heard 10 different birds. Now it's 28, sleeting, snowing, and raining. Unbelievable!!!
3rd week of April in WI then :z-guntootsmiley: to SD and NE and return to WI for a few more hunts
My GOAL this year is 10 gobblers.
Starts tomorrow guys. Scouted out things today and found good sign. It is frigid outside so I'm not expecting them to be too fired up. Hopefully I will have a story to tell before long. Time will tell.
Good luck Tandy!!! Whack a biggun!!!!
April 15th here for second season (North) in Illinois. Screwed up turkey hunting dates...we really have to get after it if we're not land owners.

Private land opened up on March 20, and public land opens up tomorrow. For some reason, I am going to fight the crowd tomorrow on public land...
14 days and counting, lol. I have to take a group of kiddos to Jeff City this weekend so that kinda puts a hurtin on my scouting. But we normally get to see a crap load going up there and when we travel from Jeff city to Linn. I know I'm ready to shoot one in the face, lol.
Taking off work this Friday so hopefully the weather will cooperate. Had a big bird come in behind me last week. He snuck in and then sat and gobbled in my ear for about 5 minutes. I was pinned down and couldn't move. He went over and hill and I spun on him but he never stuck his head back up. Hoping for another chance!
I have another hunt coming up. Last week I hunted or scouted for 6 days straight. I have heard a bird gobble on every day except for 1, and I had terrible weather that day.
Lots of gobbling but birds are not responding. Hopefully the hens are gone and the Toms are lonely.
The storms that we are having here should be passed by tomorrow evening, so I may try to get out on Friday morning. The only problem is that I believe it will be windy. I guess that means I just need to get my box call out for Friday.
Waiting on the 17th here in WV. I have scouted the last 8 days (8 evenings 2 mornings cause of work). I've rooster birds every evening in the same area as I did last spring. Yesterday morning was a blast! I watched 3 longbeards, 4 jakes and 8 hens fly down. Then 2 more gobblers showed up. I'm definitely excited for youth season on the 15th and then my vacation starts. Hope y'all enjoy the pics.
