So I trying to find out where to go from here. Both targets shot at 35 yards. Apex ninja and Federal TSS.
18.5" Barrel with custom SumToy .385
here is federal
My 301 was pretty bad. Gave it a deep clean and the pattern was definitely a lot better after that
I used regular cleaner.
However I did clean with denatured alcohol and it pulled more stuff out that looked like a clean barrel. I might try and polish it.
We will see if it gets better. If not then I will try a different constriction.
That 18.5 in barrel is not going to preform like the other .410's with 24in +. Try a tighter choke. . I have had the best luck with the .410 choke from Jebs.

I was worried about the 18.5 barrel, but didn't have a choice, only option.
I would give William Lambert a call at Sumtoy and see what he suggests since you already have the choke. I know they have been getting killer patterns from them. Jebs has the 410s rocking as well. Just going to take a little playing.

I've been messaging him. He advised me to clean the barrel with denatured alcohol again. I will have to wait and see how it goes. I will call him if it doesn't improve.
Talked to Mr William and we are going to try a .375 and go from there. I'll pattern the Ninja and Federal. See if it is better and then may order Nitro's 9x10....
I'll post up pictures once the new choke comes in.
Try the Foxtrot 383 Stroker load with 9.5's when you get your .375 Sumtoy

x2.. I agree most of your problem is with that short 18.5 barrel ..

Thank you Sir.
Wasn't me just a call to Mr. Lambert and he said we'll try .375.
I still might try Nitro 9x10 and see what happens.

Yes Sir,
The Super Mini Bantam only cam in 18.5" fixed Modified choke. I had SumToy thread it.
So I might try Nitro 9x10 and see what happens.
Thanks for posting.
Just to follow up I did get some Nitro 9x10. I haven't tried the Sumtoy .375. I did order a Comp-N-Choke .370 that's what we are using this season until I can get more testing done.
However I wish I would have just stayed with the factory Mod barrel. I've seen another gun same model pattern really well with Apex. Just a heads up.
I will post an update later.
