Title: Anyone Shooting a Mossberg with 18.5 in. Barrel
Post by: Bayou Gold on May 21, 2019, 10:56:47 AM
I have a 510 Mini Bantam that my boys rarely use these days, and I am considering adding pistol grip stock, but curious how it will pattern with such a short barrel...

Has anyone hunted with or even patterned this setup?

Search Mossberg 510 in the OG search bar, about four pages of 510-specific information you can quickly scroll / read through.  :icon_thumright:

I'm shooting a 20 ga. Super Bantam with a 22" barrel, and IC .555 with TSS 9s in a 2.75" shell.

I used a 18.5" barrel on my 870 20 gauge with handloaded tss #9's the 1st year I loaded my own and it delivered excellent patterns and I killed my limit in Tn. Shots were from 20 to just a touch over 45 and all were clean kills, best I remember my 10" counts were in the 320 /180 range, I was using a Indian Creek. 555 BDS choke.

I found a Moss berg 500 20 gauge turkey thugs edition in a pawn shop for $300, so I am going to leave the mini bantam as is for my boys to use dove hunting instead of converting it for turkey only
