I'm always looking for deer....
Very nice Yoder,(https://i.imgur.com/hxnLn45.jpg) this is not what you want to see, they moved in opening day of our bow season.

Prime looking spot Yoder.
This particular stand is my #2. I've only taken one buck from it. But I'm fairly selective. I've let a trailer load of really nice deer.walk on past. It's a great location.
Gonna hunt my #1 starting Saturday. I'll get some 360 degree pics of that one posted up.
here's a spot I have that is good when it is dry and hot but not fun to hunt when it is 90 degrees.(https://i.imgur.com/6DUoZyu.jpg)
Bailey, they are doing the same thing here in north ms.on a tract I hunt.glad I got a few more places to hunt
Same thing here in the piedmont of South Carolina. Just about all our tracks are either deserts (fresh cutovers) or short pines. Very few hardwoods left to hunt unless they are in the bottoms where it's too wet to log.
They just got done clear cutting almost my whole lease in Georgia. Some of them pines werent even ten years old. Must be a high demand on pine right now.
Hunted my #1 stand yesterday. Freakin' COLD !!!!! This stand is on a ridgetop, looking out onto a big flat. It's the windiest place I hunt..............and it was 22 degrees when I got in, yesterday. Spent 11 1/2 hours there, yesterday. Covered up in deer and turkeys ALL DAY.
Gonna do 6 days straight of 11 1/2 hour sits.............unless a mature deer does something dumb before then.

Thanks !!!
There's a reason it's my #1. Four of the bucks on my wall have come from this stand, including my only P&Y deer. This is just one of THOSE locations.............
I think I saw 8 different bucks yesterday............plus a flock of 13 turkeys which flew down into bow range and were within 5-6 yards coming back around in the afternoon. Trying to get a little video of them to upload to my Flickr account, but it won't go.........
Have a great hunt. Good looking stand locations.
Sorry for the crapping pics...they are from my cheap flip-phone. This is from one of my stands in a creek bottom:

First accumulating snow of the year was yesterday, sure wish I could have been out there. Best of luck to all of you.
You didn't miss much.
19 degrees and breezy when I got up and tied in. Had 15 does come in off the flat yesterday morning. 4 small bucks. I froze out around 11:30. You'd think with 15 does....... 13 of them ADULT doe.........that hilltop woulda been covered UP in mature bucks, scent checking, chasing, breeding, etc. Nope. Nada.
Weird week of hunting. From last Saturday thru yesterday, I saw 22 different bucks. Only one was a shooter. None of the other 21 would have cracked the 100" mark. Very little rut activity, overall. With overnight and morning temps in the teens and 20's and daytime highs not out of the 30's it should have been going full-bore.............one would think.
Anyhoo............this coming Saturday will be my last hurrah with the bow. It'll either happen or it won't.
I sat till noon, did see my target buck that I have been semi _hunting. Went back to the truck and warmed up for a half hour then headed to spot #2. As I was pulling my bow up I spied a small buck headed my way. Went ahead and filled tag#2. I haven't had much time to hunt with my boy having to spend 4 days in the hospital along with my kids fall sports. Gonna hold out for a fat doe or decent buck with my final 2 tags. I will say drawing a bow with a broken rib is excruciatingly painful.

I do a lot of float hunting for deer and found it to be higher on the return than stand hunting , the scenery is all the same though...
