Just order one and will pick it up on Wednesday. Will post pictures when I get it. Not sure if it's a new model or not? Anyone know or have one? Bubba

that is a really sharp looking shotgun. I knew Remington made 870 410 but I didn't know they made a camo turkey model. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
Weigh it when you get it. Curious about the weight. Can't find that # anywhere.
Is it Wednesday yet?

Actually it's Thursday. haha. Went to pick it up yesterday morning filled out all the Paperwork but the Backgrounds checks are running 24 to 48 hours. FYI if you're looking to buy a gun. I did get to inspect it and it's a sweet handling gun. Not sure about the sight on it but will see. I tend to be line the beads up kind of guy. I'd say it's probably only a couple of pounds. Bubba

Okay boys just left the range. This is a very nice gun. This is a rifle range so I tried to set up at 20 yards to start. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200619/6717948a9e5c794173ffbcefbdc57487.jpg)
That's 3" 7 1/2 shot lead.
This one is 2 1/2" 7s. At the 20 yards. Ignore the rifle shots in the red. I shot my rifle while waiting for the range to go cold.
I pulled the first one to the left a little.
25 yards was good to. Put it out to 50 yards. And that's a no go with this Ammo and choke. The 3" was the Federal turkey shot I can't remember if it's the TSS or not. I'll have to look.
It's a very tight action but that might be because all I did was pull it from the box check the barrel to be sure it was clear and put the plug in it. I didn't oil it or anything. It shot true to that sight. I'll take pictures if it later. Very nice gun and very happy with it so far. Very manageable recoil too. Bubba

Awesome. Gotta post pictures of the gun....
Thanks for sharing.
New this year . had them in Nashville NWTF. First ive seen of them . Get you some #9 or #9.5 TSS . That will surprise you in sure . Apex , Foxtrot or even the Federal have done well for us in the 410 . even some 9.5x10 TSS blends that have been smoking . I expect 130 to just over 200 pellets in a 10 inch circle with my 410's thesedays. Ive hunted last 2 almost exclusively with a 410 and have 7 kills myself all handload 9's and 9.5's. Most at right at 40 yds , closest was 32 yards .

Thanks for the pictures. Do you know the diameter of the choke? I've heard .390 - .380 is great?
I'm trying a SumToy .375 in a Mossberg for my Son. The .385 and the short barrel didn't go well. I tried Ninja and Federal. Once I try the .375 I'll order some Nitro 9X10 and see what they do. Nitro custom shells have been amazing in my other guns.
Good luck.
I don't have anything to measure it with but a Quick check gauge and it wouldn't even fit in the choke. so it's tighter then a normal 410 Full choke. After looking at those 25 yard targets I'm thinking I could probably do better? Bubba.
Try a .380 IC with 9.5 handloads
Or the 1 oz load from foxtrot ammo.
Nice looking 870.
I believe you'll need to tighten that pattern up a bit. Have you deep cleaned the bore? It might need a good scrub down.
Almost forgot to mention the Federal tss 9's out of my Steven's 410 were horrible.

I'm going to for sure try and tighten it up some. Bubba
You will enjoy hunting with that 410 .. nice looking gun

I bought one yesterday but mine is Mossy Oak Breakup. Did you put the finer optic rear sight on it. I haven't looked at mine yet. I am going to shoot it with factory choke but will probably get a Sumtoy.

That was exactly how it came out of the box. Bubba

Guess I should have looked at mine instead of putting in gun cabinet Mine has same sight. I thought I would mount a FFIII on rail. Think I will shoot with these sights and see how I like them. 78 years has taken a lot of my eye sight. Did you try choke that came with it?
Bubba what is the camo on that gun. First time I've seen it. Mine is according to book is Mossy Oak NWTF Obession
It's the Real Tree Timber. I'm 60 and I've always have been nearsighted so now when I wear glasses or contacts my close vision is blurry. I didn't really mind this sight much. It shot pretty straight right out of the box. I used the choke that came with it. I'm going to mess around with it some more. Bubba
Got me a Sumtoy choke for mine. Need to pattern it. Been to hot here
I'm in my 70's, I just got my 870 Turkey, surprised by how smooth the action is out of the box, I like the sights, tried a few clays and did well with it, need to pattern it next, just playing around with some ground targets. The only issue was when cleaning one of the shell stops was not steaked into the receiver, the left one, made betting the trigger group back in like working on a Mossberg, two extra fingers would have helped, I don't think this issue warrants sending it back to Remington.

Let me know how it doe's. I have the annual big Dove hunt next month and thinking about bringing it to try out. Although the birds on this field fly pretty high so it might be tough.
You know I was having a really tough time getting my trigger group back in after taking it out. I bet that's my problem too. Any of you others have this problem? Bubba

Hi CheifBubba........Tried at the pattern board with Federal 3" #6, 11/16 oz. load, all I had on hand, the factory choke is Full, a new tube will be added, not to shabby, a good 35 yard gun with this load, will try with TSS later in the week. When I tried the gun on clays with the TruGlo sights still attached it did pretty well after a few shots once I got the feel of the gun, might be a bit slow for dove with the turkey sights. The factory rail is easy to remove as is the front sight, seems the front sight hole is tapped so you could add a lower TruGlo front sight for more versatility.
As far as the trigger group is concerned..........when I clean in the future I'll just clean the barrel, slide out the bolt and slide and leave the trigger group in til it gets real dirty, at my age maybe never again, LOL. Pop's old Browning A5 never had the group out in more the 60 years!
