I'm thinking about getting one next year,who hunts with one? How do you like it ? What choke and shell combos? Straight newbie when it's come to .410's !

Apex with Jebs choke seems like a good combo. Mine is trowing around 150 @ 40 yards..
I'm waiting for the somtoy mount to come it's lower and shorter them the mount that comes with the gun have apex,Browning and federal also ordered some foxtrotammo.com will let you know what pattern best.

How well does this Tristar cycle the 410 shells and what choke are you using and the constriction of the choke. You have me thinking about one.
I have the same gun just the NWTF edition. Mine cycled all the loads that I've ran through it so far. For those of you that have the Tristar and have a Red dot mounted. What sights and mounts are ya'll using? I can't seem to find a mount for a FF3 that i have, that will attach to the dovetail and don't see where Vortex makes one for the Venom.
FL-BOSS, are you shooting the Full or XFULL Jebs? I ordered one the other day and Jebs recommended the FULL since I'm shooting handloads and Apex.
Som toy custom makes the mount.
The issue I'm running into, is mine is not drilled and tapped. Mine only has the dovetail.
Do you have a viper g2 mine came with drilled and tapped if you don't have that dead ringer makes a sight for vent ribs.
My viper is the special turkey model that is drilled / tapped. I mount the FF3 on pic rail.
As for choke...Jebs sent me the X Full ( I told them I was shooting Apex) I believe he said it was .381
Anyway...it shoots great.. I'm happy

Yes I have Viper G2. It's just the one the is available only at NWTF banquets. It has the obsession stocks and matte black finish. I'm guessing I'm going to have to get a picatinny rail that attaches to the dovetail then mount the ff3 using the picatinny mount. When I talked to Jebs, he told me that they are having better results with the Full (suppose to be .384) with apex and handloads. Said the federals liked to be choked tighter. Either way, I'm ready to get the choke and test it and always with Jebs, if i'm Not satisfied they will send me the XFull.

I finally got to pattern test my Jebs yesterday. And even though it throws a pattern capable of killing a turkey at 40 yds, I was disappointed to say the least in the holes in the pattern. The gun was patterning low and I was getting around 70-80 pellets in a 10 inch circle, however the pattern was very sparse outside that circle. I will be calling Jebs this morning to exchange the FULL for the XFULL. I shot 3 different loads for comparison (Apex, Handloads and Federal). Hopefully, I'll have the new Jebs by the weekend and can do some testing.

I'm really not sure myself, other than human error. I did mic the choke and it's .389 (suppose to be .384). A friend of mine shot his 301 with a Jebs XFULL (.381) yesterday, and it shoots lights out at 40 yds. Averaging 120 pellets in a 10 inch circle.
Talked to Jebs this morning and will shipping my choke back to them in the morning. Really great customer service. So hopefully this weekend I will get to do some more testing and if I don't get better results, I may just have a G2 looking for its new forever home.
Do you have a sight for your g2 ???
I'm working on getting a reflex mounted on it. The base I need to mount it to the dovetail is out of stock. It will be 7-17 days before they can ship.
Jebs XFull outshot the full in my 28 inch gun . solid 130 to 165 numbers out of mine . dirty barrel always. 2 kills an Osceola (32 yds) and an Eastern (44 yds).
2 misses one operator error, tried to shoot thru a gap and centerpunched a sweetgum , and a recurring problem with 4 of our guns , choke came loose and blew pattern . check it every time you get out of the truck ! All kills were apex 9.5 load . Federal load is 100 to 120 with #9's.i know 3 of us have 5 kills as of today . 2 other guns are 24 inch guns with steady stock type buttstock. Will be checking out a #9 load before long .
I just ordered a Tristar Viper G2 .410 in camo. Is that gun drilled and tapped? Does Sumtoy make an optics mount for it? thanks

Yes and Yes. Do not use the sumtoy screws that come with his base. They are a different thread. The gun comes with a pictanny rail and mounting screws. Use the factory screws with sumtoy base, if you go that route.

What were the results with the browning and the foxtrot ammo? I was thinking about testing some of both. Anyone else tried the foxtrot ammo out on paper yet?
Well guys, I was finally able to shoot my gun again. I received my exchanged jebs choke and I had ordered a Hawke red dot that would fit the dovetail. Used high brass 7 1/2 to get the red dot close and it only took one of my TSS loads to get the red dot where I wanted it. It was a night and day difference from the Full to the XFull jebs. I'm getting +/- 110 in a 10in circle at 40yds with a semi-clean barrel and handloaded 9.5's. Also shot the Federal 9's and I'm getting +/- 100 in a 10in circle. All in all, I'm content with the numbers I'm seeing. Carried it yesterday on the last morning of the Florida season. Looking forward to hunting with it more next year, especially since I will be doing some out of state hunting.

Shot the TriStar with Jebs xfull and Fed. and Apex. Also shot Sumtoy with both... Sumtoy and Apex did the best with 139 - 155 numbers at 40 yds. If i could figure out how to get pics. on here with tapatalk, I'd post the gun and patterns ????

If I counted correctly, that's the 139 pellet target (40 yd.). Had as high as 155 at 40.
I think it's going to be an evil little turkey gun.
