Title: Venison Cowboy Beans
Post by: hunter22 on February 04, 2015, 07:07:22 PM
Here's a recipe I really like, Venison Cowboy Beans, that I cooked today.

1. Brown two lbs of ground venison, salt and pepper to taste
2. Cut up and brown one medium yellow onion and add to meat
3. Add 16 oz of Pork & Beans
4. Add 16 oz of Great Northern Beans
5. Add 16 oz of Kidney Beans
6. Add 1/3 cup brown sugar
7. Add one cup ketchup
8. Add 2 teaspoons of white vinegar
9. Add one tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
10. Add a shot of yellow mustard
11. Add 1/2 cup water
12. Optional--- Add jalapeno peppers for a little kick
13. Add all of the above ingredients into a baking dish and cover with aluminum foil
14. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours
15. Enjoy

Made a pan of these beans for the holiday get together this weekend...

They ate every bit of them, so they must have been as good, as I thought, they were.. ;D.

Made this for the family this weekend and it was awesome! Left out the brown sugar, put in Jalepenos and added a green bell pepper. Ate it with nacho scoop cups. next time I make it will add a bunch of shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar over it just before its done.  Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I did another batch today and spiced them up like I like. When I took them out of the oven I melted some shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over it. May be my best batch yet.

Going in the oven

Thanks for the cheese and chip scoop suggestion. It made a great dish even better.

Man, that looks good. I do something similar, but your recipe sounds like it would be better. I'll give it a try, thanks.
