Hevi-7's perform better than Nitro's for me.

I am shooting a SBEII with 28" barrel. I have tried EM Hevi-7's 3.5" 2-1/4 oz, Nitro H51013a 2-1/4 oz #4x5x7's, Nitro H517t #4x5x7's, and Nitro H517r, 2-7/16 oz #7's through Rhino 0.660", Pure Gold 0.670", and Jelly Head 0.668".

The hevi's give better results through all chokes than the Nitro loads even the straight 7 Nitro's that had 3/16 oz more shot. I won't give Nitro any more of my money.

The best combo i tested was the hevi-7's and the Pure Gold 0.670". 290+ average in the 10" with nice even coverage of the 20" circle.

I leave Thursday for NE and hopefully KS after that. The PG and the H-13 &'s will be in the gun for backup to my primary weapon - Drenalin LD with 290 fps with a two blade Rage of fury giving 2" - 3" patterns at 40 yards.

Longshanks

That was my experience with the Nitro 4x5x7 in my xtrema 2 and my Urika 2.  The hevi 7's patterned better and my POI/POA remained fairly close.
Good luck to you in NE and KS and hope to hear a good story with the Mathews! I shoot the same bow whitetail hunting and it doesnt get much better than that.

ILIKEHEVI-13

That's been my point all along.  Why shoot Nitros for double the price of the Hevi-13 loads when the latter will beat it?

drenalinld

I expected to hear from you Hevi. Not quite double the price - 6.75 vs 5.00. However, the H-13's definitely give better patterns in my gun. Throw in the fact that some are seeing high pressure with the Nitros and it's a no-brainer even for an AR hillbilly. lol

H13 is $20 a box plus there $5 rebate = $3 a shell you cant beat that  :z-guntootsmiley:

Just curious...did you try any Nitro loads with 2 1/4oz of straight #7's instead of the 4x5x7's?

Yes I did. The ones I tested last night were the H517r loads developed for the Xtrema2/SBE2. They were 2-7/16 oz of straight 7's. I was expecting big numbers but did not get them???

2 1/4oz, not 2 7/16oz.

Sorry...Slicky already asked you that in your other thread.  The point being, a 2 1/4oz of straight #7's from Nitro might make a better comparison.

Sorry stink, I missed the 2-1/4 oz part of your question. I only tried the H517's in straight 7's. As many of you as think the 2-1/4 oz may be superior, I may just have to try them. Do you guys suggest the 51013 in straight 7??

That's probably what I'd try.

i haven't figured out the rebate thing yet, but even at $4 plus tax and shipping it's a bargain for the performance delivered

ILIKEHEVI-13

I don't think too many Nitro loads will beat this.

Or this

Those are sick patterns, Hevi! I want the 320 - 340 range, but may not be able to get it without custom barrel work. Funny thing is, I just picked up a barely used 835 turkey gun for $200 bucks. That's way less than I've spent on ammo trying to get best performance out of SBEII and so far the hevi-7's are tops.
