Checking in. Presently, i have been mobilized by the US Army for the COVID crisis. It doesn't look good for this turkey season but i hope i can get away for at least one day to get after 'em.

BTW, NY's season opens on 5/1.

Good luck everyone!

RutnNStrutn

Dang Doc, that sucks!! Hope you can get away for a day or a weekend.

I know Will and The Body are still hammering it out. They both usually have one down by now, a little tougher for them this year.

RutnNStrutn

From what I've been reading on line, hearing from friends, and personally experiencing, it's been an off year for most people.
Good luck to those who are still hunting. Unfortunately, I'm done.

It must be rough watching all the southern and western areas open if you're a turkey in the northern states. California opens the last weekend in March. The whole state!  Northern Calif is still winter, and southern if full on spring for 6 weeks.
Idaho opens mid April. And goes thru the later part of May.  I'm headed to Idaho Monday, so I'll chase them there for at least 3 weeks.  I'm in the southern part. Not very many turkey's south Idaho. Northern Idaho (more birds) borders Washington State. Washington delayed their opener until May 5 th I think. But they've also not allowed out of state permits to be purchased. It maybe an option.
Let's post some northern birds and get out of the basement!

I'll bet you will!! I always have a hard time sleeping thanks to job induced insomnia. But the night before the opener, or the first hunt of a trip is almost a guaranteed no sleep night. Good luck in the AM brother!!

Sorry guys. Between work and hunting I've been at it pretty hard. I laid on the couch the other night looking over these posts and I'll be darn if I didn't fall asleep. This Corona crap makes me want to throw my phone away sometimes with all of the silly phone calls I get. Suburbhunter and I work the same department, he knows how crazy it's been

RutnNStrutn

Just be safe guys, all of you!! Stay Coronafree!!

Hello Boyz. I got away for a day and scored a decent one. I need to calculate him and take a pic of the scoresheet and the  i will post him. He weighed 20.2lbs, 9.125" beard, and .875" spurs on both sides. We were both soaking wet from a downpour but he did the right thing, cooperated, and came in silently to me!

Still here Jim. Just have a million things going on. What days I'm getting to hunt are pure trash with either wind, rain, freezing temps. Been a tough road to travel this season weatherwise. Thought i was going to get to hunt some nice weather this week but our baby burnt her hands pretty bad this morning on heater and has two follow up appointments this week and I have a surgical procedure scheduled for Friday so I'm pretty much done other than maybe Thursday morning.
