Tell me about Hevi 13 20 gauge 3" 1 1/4 load of 7's. Yeah, I know, but 9's are not legal here. Using the numbers I can find and doing the math, these will give me the most pellets on target.
Hevi 13 278 / oz X 1 1/4  would be 347 pellets
Federal TSS 7's  185 / oz  X 1 1/2 would be 277 pellets
Figuring I won't shoot over 35 yards I should have enough energy to kill Tom. It all makes sense IF those numbers are correct. Give some thoughts guys.
I'm waiting for decent weather to get out and kill some targets.

At 35 yards, the only other thing you'll need is hot grease!

I might be full of it, but I love that load
Whoever said you can't kill em from the couch never was good enough to call a gobbler into the living room

You're looking at more like 318 pellets but to 40 yards you should have absolutely ZERO problem slamming a bird's beaker in the dirt!????????????

The chart I have gives the same number as the OP. 278 pellets per ounce of hevi 13 #7. 278/4=69.5X5=347.5.

cutt down

You put 150 to 180 hevi-13 in the 10 you won't have any problem at all out to 40yds. Plenty of punch.

H-13 #7's is my go to load now the the Feds are gone. It has produced great results for me and my son as well. I'm going to have to build the stash a lil bit in case they pull the plug on em. I have to draw the line somewhere, I'm not spending all that scratch that on tss.. JMO

Those counts are for the lighter hevi shot and NOT true hevi 13. It's either hevi 13 or its not.  The lighter stuff is 278 pellets per ounce.   True 13 is fewer pellets...

Lead #7: 295/oz

12g/cc #7: 278/oz

13g/cc #7: 256/oz

15g/cc #7: 219/oz

18g/cc TSS #7: 185/oz

There is some 19g/cc TSS out there as well.

The 12 and 13 stuff I have seen is not terribly uniform in terms of size or shape so the numbers will fluctuate.  In the old Nitro Ammo shells, you could order straight 7s and still end up with what appeared to be a mix between 5 and 8 due to pellet deformity.

Boss is coming out with a 15g/cc copper plated #7 TSS for 20 gauge at a $25 price point.  1.5oz at 1150 fps.  That is a decent price if it shoots.  https://bossshotshells.com/products/copy-of-20-ga-3-1-1-2-oz-6-5-1150fps/     Their 9s are 18g/cc and priced higher accordingly.
