Just got a teak and snakewood hen box from Richard Hudson.

My first hen box and its an eye opener to me, I loved this style of call the first time I played it!

Great raspy old boss hen on left side and a young raspy to clear hen on the right side.

This want be my last hen box!

The one sider is a chestnut and snakewood from Ed Terefencko and its a player too and extremely easy to play.

Just the right amount of rasp to me with a high front end breaking over to a raspy low finish.

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

Congratulations on both, I want to get one from Ed eventually myself.

Yea those hen boxes have a completely different sound, in a way I would say more throaty or deeper sounding. Still learning to play mine.

Thanks the compliments I love the looks of these calls but it's the sound quality that is what most impressed me

Nice calls and a good description of the tone. I'm enjoying browsing through box calls, differences in designs and woods.

You did great with those two calls from two fine callmakers and gentlemen. :icon_thumright:  I have the same combo hen box from Richard and its one heck of a caller.  Ed's stuff is top notch and you cant go wrong there either.  Enjoy both in the turkey woods! :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
