Anyone know who makes a scratch box. Where one side of the striker is wood. And the other side slate. :gobble: :gobble:

Tevis makes a cedar scratcher with (only) a slate striker.

I have the box but not the wood with the striker on it, wish I could find it, that call sounded fantastic.

I see Sir Diealot post about one awhile back. I know I have seen one before but I don't remember who made it. I haven't been into custom calls all that long so it makes me think it would have been some kind of production type call.

The gentlemen is no longer in business unfortunately, kinda hoping to find a striker for it at Turkey Trot next month.

If he is talking the same as I am the slate is on the edge, not the flat side and the box is scratched along the slate.

Billy ,  scratch box striker has the slate on the bottom of the striker , wood on the other edges ...

Really not answering your question, try running your scrathers using a piece of slate or a soft talker slate caller as a striker. On some scatchers this is deadly.

Roofing slate tile makes a great scratch box striker. Just need a tile saw to cut it. It runs around a 1/4" thick and can be cut to any length or width. I like mine around 5/8" wide and 4" long

I'll have to look into that, thanks.

Sometimes I run mine on slate pot call. Sounds great and one less thing to carry.
