The LOP is shorter than standard size. I am 5'10  the stock was a little short for me as well. I got a limb saver slipped over the stock and  that solved the problem. This gun will be used for turkey hunting not like I will be doing a lot of shooting at one time. And to my surprise the recoil with Fed. TSS #9 is not bad at all for this 73 yr old man. The only drawback with the compact you will need to drill & tap the receiver if you desire an optic. This is a 20ga
Do you know what size limbsaver slip on pad you used. I have the same gun coming in a few days!

Are you 20ga folks shooting with the bead? Or red dot?

On my 870 youth 20ga I did have it drilled and tapped for a Red Dot. It shoots such a tight group out to 40 yards it is nice to be able to really zero the load.

On my new single shot Stevens 301 Compact I am staying with a fiber optic bead and limiting myself to 30 yards or less.
