Adhesive Frames

Can you still adjust back-tension on an adhesive frame? I am new to call making and when making a call with 3 reeds, it seemed like only the middle reeds back-tension would adjust since the other reeds were against the adhesive.

I could be doing something wrong, like I said I am very new to call making.
