I've got a Halloran ceramic, green slate and CM call that I'm looking for a new Obsession striker for. I've got a Stucky macassar and it's bad news. What's another one of his strikers that would sound good on these pots? I've heard tulipwood would be great

I have his tulipwood and it sounds great on everything I put it to. Oh Purple Heart sounds great on Crystal by the way and I have a Splatted maple and Wenge from him that sounds good on slate as well.

I really like the sound of bloodwood on ceramic and it shines on my green slate. Tulipwood is absolutely dirty on the CM and is above average on any surface. If I could only pick one and needed it to run any pot I would lean tulipwood.

" Bad " as in good or bad?

Can't go wrong with Dymondwood as an all purpose. Tulipwood as already mentioned as well.

I have a Brazilian Rosewood from Derrick that is right up there with the best of them too.

I have/had majority of the strikers he offers.  If I had to pick three must haves from him they would be Macassar Ebony, Tulipwood, and Dymondwood.

Additional note worthy strikers are B&W Ebony and Monkeywood.  His snakewood is a great striker too, but it don't come cheap.

Dymondwood is hard to beat on all surfaces.
