Anybody still hunt with a regular Woodstocked  shotgun? I haven't seen any in awhile. My old 870 Wingmaster ready for another season

I sometimes take out my first shotgun. It is a Mossberg 500 that my parents bought for me 35 years ago when I started hunting. I went through it some years ago and added new stock and forearm, new 24 inch barrel and an Indian Creek choke. My Dad has since passed on so it has a special place with me.

Still hunting with my 1978 12 ga. 870 . Had a Mark Banser barrel put on it in 85 and still shooting it .

Absolutely. My old Browning Auto 5's are wood stocked and my new BPS .410 and Benelli UL 28 are too. Love wood stocks!

Never been a fan of ribbed barells, I like the 1960,s early 70's guns no rib no recoil pad just walnut and metal

I have a few old shotguns that I occasionally take, one is a High Standard pointer deluxe with a 30" full vent, another is a Winchester 50 feather weight 28" full, and a 1100 Remington 26" vent rib with Rem chokes. All are blue steel and walnut, I have a lot of other types of shotguns, but these are my favorite turkey busters!

Not old school, however this is my son's  bright shiny 20ga BPS.

A question for you guys that are shooting the old school guns. I have a mid-70's Coast-To -Coast Master-Mag. It is basically a Mossberg 500 branded specifically for Coast-To-Coast hardware stores. It shoots 3" shells and has a 30" fixed full choke barrel. Would there be any concern is shooting today turkey lead turkey shells through it...specifically Longbeards? Would the pressures be to high?

Do You mean there might be some other kinds of shotguns, besides Blue Steel & Wood? ::)

Yep. Hand me down from my great granddaddy. Throws great pattern. Barrel is a bit long for my liking in the woods.

I try to take a bird every year with my Grand's 1950 something Winchester Model 12 16 gauge. I took my first bird when I was 5 with this gun. Also took my first deer with at 6. The old gun is 3/4's the way to a Slam. Need to get a Merriam with it.

Be packing a near 40 year old 1100 this year. 12 gauge 30" full choke.

Hoping to try some Rooster XR #6 in it.
