Does anybody have a Shawnee map they would be willing to part with, or know where to find one? The national forest map store is down due to the partial government shutdown. I never figured I would have been affected by the shutdown.

I don't have a forest map, but I have some custom Ariel maps from that western half of the state.

Mytopo.com best topo map source you can build and edit your maps with several layering options.
If you make everything easy how do you know when your good at anything?

Get Onx. It'll have the boundaries and a public land layer.

Thanks for the tips. I have onX and really need to spend some and learn it. Blake is Polk county part of the maps you have?

The maps put out by the Govt cover relatively small areas - you will need to know the county and then the sub maps for the area.  Maybe search e-bay for the specific maps you need.  I have several for Pope County (not for sale) but could reference the specific maps if you know the specific area you are looking for.

OnX is great when your on site, but nothing beats a map that you can spread out and really go over the terrain. On a screen you have to keep scrolling and zooming in or out. Maybe I'm just partial to topo maps because that's what we used in the Army and I've used nothing else  for hunting until just last year when I got ONX. MYTopo is the way to go for a map
