I herd three different birds behind the this morning right at 7:00 .this looks to be a good year for people hunting the national forest .my friend said he saw three gobblers in full strut on the power line next to blue sink this morning around 9:30

Jasonb53

your definitely have me reconsidering where I go opening morning lol. I have a couple small private spots that I'm hunting but it will be hit or miss with the birds. I may go listen a few mornings after this front today but sounds like we run some of the same areas

That brings back some good memories of some good hunts.  Late 80's, when in college at FSU, I hunted some of those areas in the NF as well as off Tram road.

Jasonb53

There is a lot of turkey off Tram rd but all is private leases now.

Yeah - after seeing this thread I did a little Google map reconnaissance.  I see a housing area in one area I used to hunt, another spot looks like water treatment circles.  I'm thinking it was all paper company land back when I hunted it; lots of land, and hardly ever saw other hunters.

long gone are those days

Giving up specific locations where birds are gobbling is not a good idea. These posts are forever.  I hunt that same forest and know every where you are talking.  Thankfully that is not where I hunt, but if it was I would not be happy.

Please take this as advice from someone that has been burned with duck hunting and turkey hunting locations since the internet was invented (and before from word of mouth).

Gobbling in the Tallahassee area is sufficient.
