Hey all I just shot my nef 10 with my kicks 680 goblin thunder in prep. for tomorrows opening day. I shot 320 in a 10 inch circle and 90 out of the circle at 25 measured yards using winchester supreme # 6- 2 oz. Does anyone know how many bbs are supposed to be in 2 oz of 6 shot? Just wondering.
Next ? winchester doesn't list 6 shot in supreme any more so i am left with only 5 shells. Cant shoot heavy through a kicks 680 constriction. I ordered some federal lead with flight controll to try them. What do you think? Any other suggestions on shells to try?
THANKS and GOOD HUNTIN!!

6's are 225 per oz so that load should have 450 pellets in it

it is not recommended that you shoot hevi thru your kicks but many people like my self, shoot hevi thru kicks tubes without any problems, if you want to shoot hevi then your only option would be nitros or hevi 13 5's, nitros have to be pre ordered at least 2mths in advance but hevi 13 5's can be acquired easily and they will easily outshoot lead

if you want to stick with lead go with the winchester xx magnum 3.5" 2.25oz 5's they are available at most gun shops and on the internet

I have a whole box -2 of remington hevi shot #6 but with the 680 constriction I am afraid to shoot them. Have you ever tried federal flight controll lead 6 out of your nef? Oh I think I got ripped on my bbs in that shot, cant account for 40 of them

I shot them out of the factory TK-2 non ported .710 tube and they came out of the gun like this...

I emailed Federal the photo and their reply was, my choke was too tight. They don't recomend shooting them out of a ported choke, so I wouldn't .

BigPeck215

go ahead and shoot the rem hevi shot 6's you will be surprised with the patterns the .680 is not to tight for the 1.875oz load of 6's

TalksToTurkeys

I still wouldn't.
But if you do, I would be interested in seeing what the wad looks like after you shoot it.
:fire:

BigPeck215

i'm talking about the rem shells, i would stay away from the federal shells

presdme

The federal shells I ordered are flight controll lead so they should be ok to shoot or did I miss something along the way?

Kicks and pure gold are both made from 17-4ph stainless steel. One shoots heavy one wont???? Those remington heavy #6  are looking better and better!!

BigPeck215

the flite control wads are made to perform in non ported choke tubes for best results

I still have the factory 720 tube that is non ported maybe i should try that when the feds come in??

BigPeck215

yes i would give the .720 a try
