What would you choose and why?  I'm leaning one way I just want some more opinions.

1.  Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44
2.  Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x40
3.  Nikon Monarch 3  3-10x42
4.  Meopta Meopro 3-9x40

Vortex. I've owned a few vortex scopes and the quality for the price is great. The warranty is top notch as well

I bought the leupold a couple months ago and really like it, also made in the USA. I had the same nikon you mentioned and really liked it also. I guess the leupold being made in the U.S was the deciding difference when I bought this time.

My question first is what kind of rifle are we scoping?  That will help in deciding what kind of scope. Just because you put a big scope on a rifle doesn't mean it's going to shoot any better, in my opinion you can over scope the gun... need more information

I like the vortex, although I have a nikon im also very happy with.

Never looked through a meopro so I can't comment on that scope

Leupold...made in america, excellent glass and warranty.  Most important to me is that Leupolds are usually shorter and lighter than other brands, especially Nikons.

2. Leupold and agree with the previous reasons.
As far as vortex I've only had one and it was a diamond back. At 12 power the magnification was not any better than a leupold 9 on a older Vari x11c. Clarity on the vortex  was good though as long as you have good light. Leupold, you can try the cds too and it's a lot of fun  to play with at the long distances.

Have you looked at any Burris scopes? I have the XTR 2 on my 6.5 and it's phenomenal.

Depends on your pocket book, either the Vortex, Leupold or nikon are all good scopes.. My first choose is the vortex , i have 2 pair of vortex binoculars that are great and a vortex scope blackdiamond 4 x 12 x 40 that's a good scope..i lost the covers to one of my pair of vortex binoculars and i called customer service and told them i lost the covers and wanted to purchase new covers, lady said we will have you new ones in the mail no charge. Great Service from Vortex ...
