Does anyone have a good recommendation for a guide/outfitter to get on some merriams? Me and a few buddies of mine want to take a trip out west but are falling short with any good leads. We are open to public or private land. Anything helps, thanks.

Several threads in the last few months have been discussing this subject.  We are still looking also.  Have found much difference of opinion and a wide variety of prices on semi-guided or private land hunts.  If I wished to drive 1300 miles each way from Florida we would do a camp out public land hunt.  Don't wish to be away that long so we are looking to fly in to Denver, rent a vehicle and drive to any of several States within eight hours of Denver AP.  Puts about 5 States in play.  Leaning towards WY.  Be careful you are getting into true Merriam territory.  Many hybrids all over NE and KS it seems.

I can recommend David Fox of Hitlist Outfitters. I've hunted with him and he's a great guy that works hard to get you on the birds.

Dave Fox is a great guy, he will get you on them first day.  About 2.5-3 hours south of Denver.  PM me if you need more info.

Right on guys!  Dave is a great young man and a heck of a hard worker.

If you are looking for Merriams in Nebraska, Doug Herman is who you want.  His number is 402-841-2738.

Happy to help if interested. Can give you info on NM/CO/WY/MY/NE.

We booked a hunt with Seven J out of Wyoming for this upcoming April

Seven J has the birds and the land. The only negative that I've heard was the amount of hunters he takes in camp at a time. Good luck!
