Green glass question

I see the Lonnie Sneed Oulaw Hen uses the green glass, what is the difference between that and regular glass or crystal? Thanks for any insight!

yelpy

That might just be paint on the underside.

fishr64

That's what I had thought, but all of the calls that I've seen had the same green color and a frosted or bead blasted look to them. (Tuscarora Legends made a few calls like that and Cody's World Class or Spec 1 had the same look at one time.) Thanks

I don't own one yet, but it looks like it just glows its so green!

grayfox

I don't know what the difference is but I like the green color.

Me too, I would like to see other callmakers change it up a bit. I bought a crystal ping from Sinclair for my daughter. It has like a silver pink gel under the glass. Really cool looking. I hunt with it more than my crystal ping. It even has his pink diamond wood striker. Sounds awesome and looks awesome. Am I wrong for confiscating it from my daughter??

idratherb

I got a spec 1 cody and its just paint

fishr64

She's probably going to confiscate some of your calls anyway Bowhuntr73, just like my daughters do, so it's all good brother! ????

Thanks all, they must all just use a similar paint color with the rough glass.

I guess that's part of the difference between the Cody Spec 1 and the lower priced glass calls they make idratherb, smooth glass vs frosted or blasted glass.

Could it be plexi glass?
Old spec 1 is plexiglass!

It's glass but seems thicker than regular glass.  Not sure what it is but it's glass and sounds great like all of Lonnie's calls.

I always thought it was just a sticker or decal on the soundboard?

It is plexiglass
The Outlaw Hen that I have is not Plexiglass.
I was making reference to the older Cody spec1

Sorry.  I should have gone back and read previous posts.
