Was at the local Walmart yesterday and see they have Turkey Thugs stuff out like decoys calls ect. but no Thugs Ammo? Had Federal Mag Shoks.

Wonder if they will have Thugs again this year, this stuff all usually comes out at the same time.

Anyone seen and on the shelves yet?

I wonder if they will be available this year? I was back at Walmart today, no Thugs Ammo but Thug calls, decoys ect.
They have Federal Premium Mag-Shok, Federal Strut-Shok, Federal 3rd Degree and Winchester LongBeards in stock on the shelves.

Maybe I'm just paranoid as well as impatient. I hope the haven't been discontinued.

I see plenty of thugs every time I go to Walmart, just not the kind you're looking for.....

Ok thanks I'll check there. I thought they were a Walmart only product, guess not.

I've been to 3 different Walmarts and none at any of the 3, now they have plenty of Strut-Shoks but so far no Thug Packaged ammo>

I was pretty surprised to see them there also.  I always heard they were Walmart only.

Just back from shopping, I was at Dicks and sure enough they have Thugs. Ours (Granville WV)only has 3" #5's

Found thugs at my Walmart last year after season for $3.50 a box.  No wonder they are all gone.
If you're not first, your last!!

Well i bought 12 boxes of 12 and 20 gauge at 2.50 a box #5 shot for rough sight in loads, mess around loads or pheasant loads , still shoot lead for that. At $ 6.25 for 25 for those loads it is still cheaper than the box of high brass loads.

Are the Thugs the same as the Federal blue box...seem as as though I saw that somewhere.

Don't think so.
Seems like a cost cutting change i read about a lower powder ,(volume) charge.
A faster powder that gets to the required pressure and velocity using less grains of powder.
So if 35 grains of a faster powder is used instead of 40, they save 5 grains per shell.
Not much per shell , but multiply that by 1400 and they saved a pound of powder for more profits.
The bean counters look at this stuff all the time.
It is not a bad shell though.
