I finally got my 11-87 this week and got to pattern it this after noon all shots were taken with a .665 Jelly Head choke.
1: 3" 6s fed fcw 166 in 10" at 30 yrds found the wad right in front of the targert!

2: 3" 5s WHN XX 119 in 10" 30 yrds

3: 3" 5s Fed Thugs 96 in 10" 40 yrds

4: 3.5" Kent 4s 81 in 10" at 30 yrds

3" 870 Shell Shucker

Nice patterns.  Everything looks good at 30 Yards though.

Not my 535 lol I could never find anything that would work in that gun limited every shot with it to 25 yards max. Main reason I bought this 11/87

some good looking hunting patterns :icon_thumright:
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

i bought some more of the fed fcw mag shok loads in 3.5in 6s  but they are a higher velocity think it will make much difference in patterns?
also which pattern would you hunt with? I really like the thugs 5s pattern at 40 but the more pellets down range the better right?

100 evenly spaced hits in 10" is good.  More is better.  But at some point, more is redundant, because it's already good enough to kill every turkey you hit.  Is an even 200 better than an even 150 in 10"?  Not really, because the turkey is already very dead.

An even 15" - 20" circle, (as opposed to an even 10" circle), is even more awesome.  Because now you have some forgiveness for being a little off center at the moment of ignition.  Things happen.

great point above. For this reason I'm playing with new more open chokes in my 11-87 now. I'm getting 270+ hits at 40 yards now with a JH .660 and HEVI #7... sounds great yes.. but I really want some forgiveness in the 20in especially at little closer ranges. Going to try a .675 soon.
