Alright so im kinda new to turkey hunting ive called one in but didn't get a shot (i'm chalking it up to beginners luck that i even called one in) this year im going more hardcore. Having said that i need some help with scouting. I know a few spots where ive seen birds. What else should i look for/ do? I don't mind burning boot leather. I just want to be smart about it. Thanks

Get out and look for tracks, scratchins any turkey sign in general also I like to go out before the season and listen for gobblers. Also keep in mind just because there is'nt turkeys in an area now dont mean there wont be any there come spring.I have one big chunk of public land near my house that if I went and hiked around in the snow now I could cover a lot of miles and never see a track. But if i go back on a nice mornin in april I can almost guarentee I would hear ten or so differrent birds. I dont no where they go but its like that every year.
I eat therefore I hunt

Thanks. Does just blowing a crow or owl call and listening for gobble work this early?
