Here's a couple of birds I have put up in the last couple of weeks.  The flyer (Merriams) is in the final stages of drying and touch-ups.  I just mounted the roost strutter (Rio) a couple of days ago and am still working on feather placement and positioning with him.  Just thought I would post a couple of pictures....

I appreciate the kind words, guys, ....especially from a bunch of real craftsmen and turkey killers!

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

Well that's my goal for next year. To mount a strutter. I may go down in flames doing it but I'm gonna try. That's gotta be some more kind of satisfaction to full circle on turkeys from calls to mounts.

It is a lot of fun and very satisfying to mount your own birds.  You will not regret doing it, and although it seems like it would be difficult, it really isn't that hard to do, although taking on a strutter as your first attempt might be a challenge.  I know Joe (TRKYHTR) has volunteered to offer assistance where needed, and I am happy to do the same.
...Hey, maybe one of these days enough of us will be doing it to have an on-line OG turkey taxidermy competition!   :D

Here's another picture of the flyer in it's final drying stages....
