Utmost Disrespect

Why would I disrespect an animal I have so much respect for, simply because I was not able to fool him in to coming within 40 yards to look for me so that I could kill him. What I don't have respect for is anyone who would attempt to kill them any other way. To each their own though.

My buddy named an old gobbler that once kicked my butt all season "The Tormanator"  I think they both insulted me.   Never did get that bird.  Lol

misfire

Only bird I ever named was a few years ago. Named him Richard Head. He would roost right on the edge of our property and never budge once on the ground. I did call him in one time for a buddy to shoot, had him at 35yds and my friend thought he was further out than he was. Only chance I ever had on him. Old age finally got him I guess, no one else ever did

I only named 1 bird as well- this spring in MT.  3 mornings I had him super close at multiple set ups.  3 separate times I clicked my safety convincing myself I was a helluva turkey hunter waiting for him to pop his head up.  Each time nothing until maybe 10 minutes later I'd hear him gobble to my left.  Or my right.  Or in back of me.  3 mornings of this- ultimate respect.  I couldn't get him out of my mind, so much so I made the 7 hr drive 2 weeks later to try and fill my second tag.  Never had an encounter with him again but still think about him.  I called him Circle Jerk.  All he did was tease me, circle me and act like a jerk.  Ultimate respect.

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

Never really named one. I got on an old bird 4-5 years ago that I hunted for a few weeks. When he finnaly came into range I said out loud " I'm gonna kill you ". He raised his head before I gave him a head full of tss. It felt good. For me anyway.
