Switched from PG .570 to Hevi Choke .573 in my Beretta and was surprised by the results:

Hevi 7's         126 in a 10in circle @ 40yds

Hevi 6's         118 in a 10 in circle @ 40yds

Fed HW 7's    173 in a 10 in circle @ 40yds  :you_rock:

*In this gun the Hevi 6's pattern better than the Hevi 7's at 30yds and the pattern was much more even with the Hevi 6's at 40yds than the Hevi 7's. (Hevi 7's only 8 pellets difference)

* First time i have had Fed HW 7's out pattern Hevi 7's. Goes to show how every gun/choke/shell can pattern different. None of my other Beretta's will pattern Fed HW 7's very well.

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Looks like the Beretta 20's like that choke as well as the Xtrema 12 does. :z-guntootsmiley:

Just a few questions you have to ask though. Will that combo hit those numbers consistently, or is that a one time deal? How many times did you shoot each of those combos? What were your average numbers with each of those combos? If I am correct, those are most likely your best numbers with those combos. Just a little food for thought.
Pure Gold .570 would only shoot: 110's in a 10in circle at 35yds (Fed HW 7's)
                                                    130's in a 10in circle at 35yds (Hevi 7's)
*Significantly better numbers with both loads: 5 yards further distance shooting the hevi choke and it still turned better numbers. To argue that the Hevi Choke didnt pattern better with all three loads and especially the Fed HW 7's in this particular gun would be ridiculous.
*Patterned gun at 20,30,35,40. Patterns were even and round with Fed HW 7's and Hevi 6's.
*Consistent even patterns over the entire range are as important to me as the pellet count at 40yds.
*You would be incorrect about the patterns i posted. The patterns i posted were the initial shots. I dont shoot multiple shots and then post the best ones. That would be disingenuous.
*Pellet counts always vary but the pattern is good enough for me to take the gun out in the woods and thats what i am interested in.

The Hevi choke shoots good patterns with lead as well in the 20guage just as it does in the 12guage.

Congrats. Im looking hard for a 390 20 ga. My 12 ga has been the best shotgun Ive owned. I think they have the best trigger.

Yea, this has been a great gun. Dove hunted with it quite a bit and now turkey hunting with it. No problems and it patterns really well. Smooth trigger.

So what did you get with the PG 570 that same day?,distance.

Not the same day but conditions were within 5 degrees and humidity about the same.  Also the conditions were comparable  to the weather we typically have during the best time of our turkey season.  Not my first time at the Rodeo.  I have shot Pure Gold .570 out of this 390 for 3-4 years and never came close to the results i got with Hevi Choke .573.  Every gun is different.  My Beretta 12g Urika will turn 250 with PG .670 @ 40yds with Hevi 3/2/7's and my Beretta Xtrema will turn 300 @ 40yds with Hevi Choke . 671 and  Hevi 3.5/2.25/7's.  You never know what works until you test.

I know its a sad day for some of the folks on here when Hevi Choke shoots better than Pure Gold or Fed HW 7's shoot better than Hevi 7's.  Its gonna be ok... :D

No one cares how many times you have been at the rodeo.  You post up information and we try to help and you get upset.   There is a lot of knowledge here, if you don't want it, then stop posting stuff up.

drenalinld

Very nice. I would much prefer the HW 7's over the hevi-7's, I just haven't found the right combo to get the HW's patterning.

I havent got upset yet.. and you havent brought a thing to the table as far as information, facts , or help in this discussion.  You seem to like to add smart comments to discussions where you arent bringing anything to the table or participating in any way....we can do without your rhetoric.

Yep, just who i am.  Posting 2500 times of just simple smart alec crap.
